We took a 10 minute boat ride from Fusina (where we are staying) to Venice City and coming in was just an amazing site. We got off the boat and went to Piazza San Marco and saw 100's of pigeons in the square (Mom I am thinking you might not like Venice as much) and Bisilica San Marco which is a beautiful church. The line was way to long so we decided not to wait. Instead I bought bird seed for a euro and fed the birds. There were probably 40-50 birds around me all trying to get the food. I had them flying on my head and eating right out of my palm. It was quite an experience. After that we got lost roaming around the streets and found a little place with gelato. After we took a gondola ride which was amazing for about 40 minutes. I took lots of pictures while on that and we learned a lot too. The gondola boats cost about 40,000 euros. We also saw Marco Polo's home and Bernini's palace. After we sat in San Marco Piazza again to take in the sights. For dinner we found this little place and sat outside for a 2 hour dinner where I had veal and Kevin had cuttle fish (not quite sure what kinda fish it was) looked like squid. We also had a little bottle of wine. We did everything we wanted to do in Venice in one day which was great. Tonight we are just going to hang out and then tomorrow we are leaving for Split, Croatia. We will post pictures when internet does not cost so much.

Justin has posted pictures of Oktoberfest!! We'll put up the rest when we get a chance.

We just got into Venice last night, we have our own room in a trailer\camper. But it is our own room, small but our own. There was no snoring or farting. We are truly blessed. They have two restaurants, bar and mini market at the campground and a bus and a boat that each go to Venice center. We are about to go out and see the sights soon.
Munich was great as a whole. We went to Oktoberfest everyday. We didn't see Paris Hilton but we think we saw her bodyguards. We had bratwurst and sourkraut everyday and loved it!!
Kelly, the pictures might be blurry because of Webshots because they seem fine on the camera. Or maybe it is just in low light areas. When we use the night or low light function on the camera the lens is open longer and we need to keep it stiller or it blurs.
Mo, the beer isn't better in my opinion, there is just more of it. I was expecting a darker beer but it was pretty light really. There are 5 beers that sponsor tents at the festival and they are all very similar. They really taste only a little darker than a Bud or Coors. Czech is impossible we made no attempt. The trains are great. We got to see a lot of amazing scenery on this last ride. We went through some mountains and they rival the Rockies and we didn't even go through the real part of the Alps. The trains themselves are usually pretty nice. You need to reserve a seat or you might stand for hours. We have reserved seats and it costs 5-10 bucks but it is worth it on a 7 hour trip.
If anyone else has anymore questions let us know. We like answering. And if there is anyone else out there that is reading this and hasn't let us know yet, do so. We went to Oktoberfest everyday and we also went to Dachau Concentration Camp today. Oktoberfest was amazing. Kevin and I each now have a mug from the HofBrau House. We thought Oktoberfest was very well put together and the carnival was great. We also met some really cool people while we were here. Last night we met 4 German girls, a couple (the lady from Frankfurt and the man from Turkey) and this American couple last night. Dachau was a big eye opener. I realized that the people that were in the concentration camps were not only Jews but political people, Russian soldiers, gays, and many others. Dachau was the only concentration camp to stay open all 12 years and while we were there we saw the gas chambers (apparently not used very much) and the ovens where they burned the bodies. We are heading to Venice tomorrow and we have heard the internet is very expensive there so only if our hostel has free internet will you hear from us. We are staying at Camping Fusina which is about 15 minutes outside of Venice. Justin should be posting his Oktoberfest pictures of us soon so keep an eye out for that.
Keep leaving us comments we love reading them.
Mom and Kelly thanks for the gondola ride again.
Jessica and Kevin

Hey Everyone,
We were defeated in getting a seat tonight in one of the beer tents so that is why you are hearing from us. Last night was great. We got to our hostel, The Tent, and hung out till Justin got here. By the way The Tent is actually pretty nice. There are about 100 bunk beds under a big tent but everyone is really nice and they also have a camp fire outside where people sit around. Back to last night, we went to the Hauf Brau House and there was maybe 1,500 people there. Everyone was drinking and singing and very friendly. Both Kevin and Justin have mugs that they will be bringing home. Today we walked around the area again (it is a carnival too) and went into a few different tents. I have been eating bratwartz and sourkrautz (sp) all the time. Kevin and Justin bought shirts and then the sad part happened tonight. We walked around for almost 2 hours going from tent to tent trying to find an open spot. We could have stayed there and kept our spots but at 5 pm everything seemed to be reserved everywhere and you couldn't do anything about it. Where were all you people who have been here before telling us about the tables all being reserved? We tried to sit down at some open tables that people had not claimed as their reserve table but the people were very rude and wouldn't let us sit there until the rest of their group came. Oh well we will try again tomorrow. Justin has been taking a lot of pictures and we will just use his to post if we can figure out how to do it. If not you will all just have to wait to see them when we get home. Also the weather has taken a bit of a turn. It rained all day but we are hopeful for better weather tomorrow. Any big news in the world going on? We don't hear much while traveling?
Mary Lou,
Just a reminder our bills our due Oct. 1st.

*Jessica

MORE PICTURES ARE UP!! We will be enjoying Oktoberfest!!
-Kevin

I love Prague!!!!

Prague is just amazing and I cannot say enough good things about it. This morning when we woke up we went and had the best breakfast we have yet to have. We had cereal, yogurt, bread, meats, cheeses, different drink choices, pasta salad. We definitley stuffed ourselves.
Then Kevin and I did an all day walking tour for 350 crowns (sounds like a lot but it is not) We kinda go lost going to the place to meet everyone because the street signs are in a different language and the streets are not the starightest but we made it just in time. We started at the astronomical clock. It has a show every hour where little people on the clock move and there is a skeleton that calls for the dead and the other people across say no and then the rooster on the top crows because it is not time for the people to die. (This is what our tour guide told us). We then moved up towards Prague castle. We walked across th Charles Bridge. Wow what a sight. There are street vendors everywhere and think I might buy one of thir paintings when we go back tomorrow. We heard the story of one of the Saints and stood at the spot where he was thrown over the bridge and died. Apparently that is a good spot to make a wish. We then took a tram up to Pague Castle. It is not much of a Castle anymore from what our tour guide told us a lot of the offices are empty from all their past wars and when Hitler occupied it. No one wanted to restore it or very little of it. We then had about a 45 minute break so Kevin and I walked back down the Charles Bridge and met up with our group again. I forgot to add there are 3 women who are 40 that were in our group and when they were 20 they all came and backpacked through Europe, the cool part was the went to CU in Boulder. Once we met up with them again we went to the Jewish ghetto. We saw three synogogs that are now used as musuems but during WW2 they were used to hold Jewish people's belongings that they had to give up. We also saw a cemetary that was 12 levels high and had about 100,000 people buried in it. Because the Jewish people couldn't build otside the ghetto they just had to build on top of people. We couldn't go anyside anything Jewish because they are celebrating their New Years Today. We also got a CD of our tour so everyone can see the same things we did. It was free and we like free things.
Last part of the e-mail. Not sure if anyone has heard but our tour guide told us half way through our tour that if we notice more Police it is because Prague had a terrorist threat last night and I guess the government is taking it pretty serious becasue they got together last night at 2 am. Don't worry I think we are protectd by the police that look like heavy duty cops and they have machine guns. We will be more aware but just to let you know we are fine.
We also went and ate at TGI Fridays. We re now staying away from anything American because that was our most expensive meal.
Tomorrow we are going back down around Old Square (will look for a way to post our pictures) to see the Charles Bridge and hang out in the Old Square one more time.
The morning of he 25th we are on to Munich for Oktoberfest where we will meet up with Justin again and maybe Tara.
Kelly~ I would buy some crystal but we can't carry it in our bags very well and we don't understand the language or how things work enough to probably ship it.
Mom~ We looked up on Expedia and found a romantic gondola ride for 45 minutes around 3 pm but I am not sure how to use your vochure to buy it. Do you want us just to do the gondola ride and give me money later? What do you think?

Miss everyone very much and I am thinking about all of you when I am seeing these beautiful sights and can't wait to tell you in more detail about everything.
~Jessica

We made it to Prague!!
After only an 11 hour and 20 minute train ride today we made it. The train ride was amazing though. We saw some beautiful country side and got to see the sunrise over the canal with little farms in the background on our way to Frankfurt. We stoped there and Dresdon. We were only there for a few minutes as we switched trains but coming in and out of the towns they semed nice. We still have not found a place to upload our photos. The computer here could do it but won't let us select multiple pictures so we would have to load one at a time which we do not feel like doing so we will continue looking for a place. Kevin and I went and had a great meal tonight for $20 at a very nice restuarant. It was so nice to have food and get a soda. We do miss free refills and free bread though. We are hoping to make up some money tat we have over spent in other countries which we think is very do able. We are staying at A Plus hostel. From what we have seen it seems nice and are here until the 25th. We are maybe going to do a walking tour tomorrow and see Prague Castle. Prague is a little harder to get around than our other cities because this is the first place where there are no signs in English and not very many people speak English. When we got into the train stataion we tried to go to the information desk but they were already closed so we saw some other backpakers (luckily American) who were lost as well and we figure it out together. Turns out they are staying in the Tent in Munich th same time we are so maybe we can meet up again.
Mom, how is your new job?
Mary Lou and Jim, how are our cars and the pets? Did you tape Greys Anatomy for us?
Justin, there are lockers at The Tent!
~Jessica

Amsterdam....
SO we still can't post pictures because the computers are too old to do that. Most of European homes do not have internet, hence the internet cafe's. So they are behind the times. Yesterday, we started off by going to the Anne Frank House and then we ~~~~~Censored~~~~~~~~~~. Had dinner then went out to ~~~~~~~Censored~~~~~~~. There was so much ~~~~~censored~~~~~ and ~~~~~Censored~~~~~~. I couldn't believe it. Overall, though we didn't enjoy Amsterdam as much as other places. Everything is in English so we get by fine but the town really does only have sex and drugs, which really gets kinda annoying after a while. We did notice that as the nights progressed that the prostitutes in the windows got a lot better looking, haha.
Mom, the museums are outside of town, a distance to walk, and are expensive. Also, what are the dates you are in Rome again?
Brian, it is expensive, that is the downside.
Today we went to the train station to see if we need to reserve a seat to Prague tomorrow. Well we did have to, because they were full so we booked another train with an extra stop. You have to reserve a seat on every train which will cost at least 10 euros. So that is another additional cost that we need to account for.
We have figured out that since most of the cities that we are visiting are on the Euro now their economy is the same so things will cost the same there. So Prague and Croatia are the only ones that will be cheaper. This trip is far more expensive than we had originally thought.
While at the station we ran into a girl that we each knew separately from CSU named Mandy. I haven't seen her in maybe 4 years and I run into her and her friends in Amsterdam of all places. They are just arriving here but we will hopefully see them in Munich for Octoberfest.

We are currently revising our trip a bit. We will probably go to Interlaken Switzerland instead of Geneva, which is too expensive. Interlaken is very pretty and we've heard great things. We are also reconsidering Venice because it is 61 euros for a Gondola ride, which is the main reason why we are going. Also, Jessica just informed me that we might have a problem with going to Pompeii. The train times are going to screw up our schedule since some only leave once or twice a day and we have to adjust to that. We may change some things but it won't be until after Munich, so we'll keep you updated.
Luckily our hostel has cheap food and is very comfortable so we can eat there since we went over on budget yesterday again.

Money the cause and solution to all of life's problems,
Kevin

We are in AMSTERDAM!!
London was great but we left in such a hurry today that we didn't have time to post. We planned wrong and almost missed our flight, but I say that we were right on time rather. London was great! We made friends with our roommates Megan and Henty we had drinks with them in the bar of the hostel and had a really great time and learned a lot. We saw everything that we wanted to in London. This computer doesn't allow us to upload photos so we will post them when we find a place we can, but there are just as many as before. Half are probably from Madame Toussaud's Wax Museum. We also saw the British Museum with a ton about Egypt, Rome and Greece, including the Rosetta Stone.
(Jessica is making fun of my grammar and run-on sentences (she's so proper))
We saw Cleopatra's mummy and sarcophagus. It was free and there was so much to see that it was almost over-whelming. We spent the afternoon and evening in Covent Garden which is similar to Fannel Hall in Boston. We watched these living statues for a while and then a few street performers, one that rode an 8-foot tall unicycle in only a thong and juggled a chainsaw. We had dinner there and Jessica got a "Mind the Gap" magnet. That night we did the Jack the Ripper walking tour and it was really, really cool! He showed us where some of the victims were murdered and talked about the possible suspects including members of the Royal family and Freemasons.
The next day we saw Big Ben, who is far better in person, and Westminster Abbey, also a must see. We attended a church service there, too. We saw Parliament which is beautiful and saw Westminster Bridge. Eric, we did scream for you like we said we would. I think a boat in the river thought we were screaming at them. Then we went to Buckingham Palace. We tried to go earlier for changing of the guards. There must have been several hundred people and you could barely see anything. I picked up Jessica to take pictures. So when we went back to the Palace we got some pics and took a nap in the park next door.
Then we met Alyson, Jessica's cousin, for dinner. She was nice enough to treat and we love her for it! It was delicious. Then we met up with Justin and Tara who both are living in England now and we went out for drinks and had maybe the best night thus far. Thank you both again for the drinks! Hopefully, we can meet up in Munich.
That is it for London. We loved it and would definitely go back again, though it was expensive. We are now in Amsterdam staying at "The Bulldog" which is awesome and cheap. We even get to share a double bunk bed! So far, Amsterdam is what you hear. It reaks of marijuana and there are sex shops everywhere and prostitutes in the windows. We are indeed in the "Red Light district but it is a lot nicer than many other areas.
That is it for now. We will keep you posted! Keep in Touch!
-Kevin

Quick Message. The hostel is great! This morning Kevin and I were very excited when we came down to breakfast and we had 4 choices of cereal to choose from, had jelly for our toast, and had orange juice to drink. Hey the way we are living it is all about the little things in life. We do have a plan for these next two days. We are going to see Madam Tussaud's Wax Musuem, The London National Musuem(free), then go walk around a enjoy the sights at Covent Garden and SoHo. Later tonight we are doing a walk through London with a tour guide about Jack the Ripper. Tomorrow we are doing Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and seeing Westminster Bridge. We don't plan on going inside of all of them. We are also going to meet up with Alyson for dinner. As soon as we figure out a time Justin and Tara we will let you know our plans as well.
Have to run only have 2 minutes left of internet.
Look for our pictures tomorrow night!

London Calling!!! City number 2!!! Just got in and our hostel is great!! everything from a DVD Theatre to a Gym and a Bar. Most all of it costs money, and we are broke today so we will use them tomorrow. Our flight was delayed but we made it here pretty easily in retrospect. The trains and tubes are great. We are at the GlobeTrotters Inn, a few minutes from the Stamford Brook stop on the District (green) line. Most of the places we want to visit are on or near the same line so it should be easy. I really want to see mdame Tussauds, but Jessica thinks otherwise.
I'm glad that you all enjoyed our pictures. There are a lot more to come, so be ready. London is really expensive so I am thinking that I would like to absorb the culture more and less on Museums. God knows that we are going to see many more museums on our way.
Brain, I would rather spend my time and money on other sorts of cocktails first!!
Eric, Which bridge was it that you wanted us to visit for your partner?

On our last night in Dublin we finally went to see some Live Irish Music at O'Shea's on the corner of the road we were on. It was really fun and we ran into our friend Renee from our hostel. She is here alone and we had a lot of fun with her. We barely slept last night. Because of the huge futbol match in Dublin tonight the hostel was packed and our 20 bed room was a symphony of snores and farts. Plus we only had our airplane blankets that we...borrowed... from Aer Lingus, hehe. And it was freezing. Well we only have 3 others in our room and we have blankets so we should be set, except that it is really hot here now. Go figure! We are here until Tuesday morning at 6am, not too long because it costs so much! But we will try to make due. Does anyone have any suggestions on things to do for them while we are here? Hope to hear from you soon!
-Kevin

P.S
Kevin lit a candle for his Grandma in St. Patrick's Cathedral and in Christ Church!
Jessica lit a candle for all her grandparent's in St. Ptrick's Cathdral and a candle for peace in Christ Church!

As we go to other churches we will light them for other people. All four days in Dublin and the south coast of Ireland.
Here is a link http://community.webshots.com/user/EuroStuff

So it was our last day in Dublin. We went to the National Musuem of Ireland. Not the most exciting but it was free so that is ok. I thought the funniest thing was that Kevin dropped his water bottle and it spilt in the coin exhibt. We did clean it up. We then went to Christ Church and St. Patrick Cathedral, both so beautiful. We caught some lunch/dinner on the way home (got a sandwich and an orange) and went to eat at Trinity College. After we are through posting our blog we are headed to O'Shea's for some drinking and Live Irish Music. Last night we went and had a full meal and were so tired after it we came home to lay down. We slept so long we decided to not go out but we ended up meeting to people (Erin and Mike) from Australia who were traveling around the world. They were about 4 weeks in and they gave us some pointers for London and Amsterdam. It was really nice to talk with people who spoke english well and was another couple on a simliar journey. The funniest thing was when one guy was going to sleep next to us he was only in his boxers with a fat gut and then farted infront of us. Erin was distgusted and I couldn't stop laughing.

Overall for Dublin what we have discovered
People park halfway on the sidewalk
People walk in the roads (More foot traffic than car traffic)
The crosswalks make an atari noise when you are suppose to cross
Lots of school uniforms
Put beers in specific beer glass
Put butter on all sandwiches
Irish Pride= Texas Pride
Say cheers instead of thank you
Absolutley no SUV's
Polish is the second most spoken language
Irish are out numbered by foriegners (huge immigration)
No Unemployment
All in all it is like most American cities
Lots of buses (almost more than cars)
Very walkable city

Leaving Dublin and on to London,
Jessica and Kevin

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for the comments on the blog Kevin and I really enjoy reading them! Today we went and took a bus tour down South. It was really nice to get outside the city. We stopped and saw the most beautiful gardens. They had different styles all around the area. My favorite were the Italian one and the Japanese one. The gardens were on the grounds of Powerscourt Gardens which is in the hills of Ireland. Tomorrow will be our last day in Dublin and we are going to go see St. Patrick's Cathedral, Christ Church, and the National Museum of Ireland. After seeing all those sites then we can post pictures so you can see them all at once. The computer here is older and you can only use the internet so we have to go to the internet cafe to up load the pictures. Mom I would like to say that after you asked if the placed smelled and we said no, well now it does. Our room smells so bad that we only go in it when necessary. I think it is a mixture of wet towls and smelly shoes that is causing the smell and we can't open the door because it is a fire hazard. Thats all I have to say. Miss you all
~Jess

Yo,
So, after yesterday's post, we've decided that we are tired of 2 euro sandwiches and want some real food, drinks and culture. So, we are going to go get a hot meal when we are done here. I have been in Ireland for 3 days now and only had 3 beers. I don't drink that little in the States (kidding). Then we will hang around the pub for the nightly irish music. I would be sad if we left without seeing that.
I always defended the irish when Americans thought that it is all Shamrock's, Guiness and Green, but actually that is all it is. Ya know how every american restaurat has a bud, miller, coors or some beer logo on it. EVERY restaurant here has Guiness. And they are VERY proud of it. and every shop sells every thing with a Guiness logo you can think of.
We have come up with a cool idea. We are going to save a coaster from every drink that we drink and put it together on a coffee table in our new apartment. We are dating them and naming the place and the drink. Then we will put a clear coat of finish over it to solidify. Cool, huh?!
Mom, thank you for disguising the fact that you are giving me money. I don't beleive it for a second but at this point I will take it and buy you a gift. But before that, we were at the point that we were thinking "if we can't eat, no one gets presents" but now maybe some one will get something.
Question: Mom and dad, what counties do we come from? They have flags for each county and I really want to buy one. They are pretty cheap and light to carry.
We found Foley Street but no pub on it. But we have a picture of it. We'll keep looking though. Keep in touch!
-Kevin Patrick Foley

Hey Everyone,
So to put everyones mind at ease it is actually not as bad of a hostel as everyone thinks. I doesn't smell and the rooms are not that bad. We get clean sheets, the rooms and bathrooms are cleaned everyday, and for breakfast we got toast and cereal. It does have good security; you have to be buzzed in at the door, we have key cards for our rooms to get in and out, and for the girls bathrooms you have to have a key card too. We have kinda made friends with one of the guys that works here, he takes pity on us that this is our first hostel and we didn't know the ways of backpacking. Really this is all we can afford. We found this corner store and we can get sandwiches for 2 euros each. A really good deal for us since we are running out of money faster than we had planned.
~Jessica

Hey guys,
To answer my moms comment, we would love to stay in a better hostel but this is all we can afford. Our plan of 50 dollars a day equals about 40 euros. 14.50 on a hostel+12 for a bus tour+12.60 for the Guiness tour and today we are out of money. So we got 2 sandwichs each for 2 euros. Our hostel isn't that bad. We looked at worse. Tomorrow we are taking a bus tour of the southern country side. That is 25 euros. We are going to do the same thing with sandwiches. I got two ham sandwiches and jessica got a turkey and a tuna . They put butter in them instead of any other condiments. Breakfast here is really small. Two types of cereal and toast. One cereal was all gone. We got a weird form of Rice Crispies. Our plan for Friday is to walk to the free sites and spend our money on a nice dinner. Or a normal dinner for us. We are realizing that we have become accustomed to a certain type of living. Not this type of living. We have heard that Dublin and London are very expensive, so I am praying that we can even out our budget later in the trip. I am really hoping that we can budget in a dinner at an irish pub before we leave. We did visit an Irish pub last night and watched some of the futbol match with the locals. But I bought two beers and that will probably be all the drinks I can afford all trip. I hope munich is cheaper since all we want to do there is drink.
Besides the money we are having a god time. We are trying to see if we can get pictures up tonight, but this computer is really old. We have cut the Pub Crawl out of the things to do because of costs, but we saw the Dublin Castle, Trinity College, the Statue of Molly Malone and a bunch of other things. It is much better without our back packs on the whole time. I hope to keep hearing from you.
-Kevin

WE MADE IT TO DUBLIN!!! The airline flight was great. We got a choice of beef or chicken for our meal with salad, bread, custard dessert, cheese and crackers, water. tea. and a mint. It was actually good food. They also played Nacho Libre but we both slept though that movie. We got about 2 1/2 hours of sleep while on the plane. We had a quick stopover in Shannon. All in all the flight was about 6 hours. Once we arrived we got our bags, got some money and headed into downtown Dublin. We were dropped off at Trinity College where we saw The book of Kells. The book of Kells is one of the oldest surviving documents in Christiandom (Kevin's word) It has elaborate drawings and wrtitings. All in all pretty cool but couldn't take any pictures there. Also at Trinity College there was a long library with bust full of great writers and thinkers along with really old books. Then we walked around for 2 hours trying to find a hostel that was in our price range. I was not in the highest of spirits having to carry around my heavy bag and being so tired but Kevin was really good about staying positive and together we found a place called The Brown Budget accomadations. It looks like an old bomb shelter. We have a room that sleeps 20 people but we are not sure if all the beds are taken yet. After both taking a nap in our bomb shelter couches while watching Ricki Lake and listening to different people talking in different languages we continued to check out the city and discover more of what it has to offer. While walking around we saw Dublin Castle and Temple Bar(Its a neighborhood). While at Dublin Castle we saw them filming a period piece movie. Kevin recognized him from the moive The Count of Monte Cristo (he played the judge). We have now figured out the currency rate and oh my god it was awful to figure out. The currency exchange calculator that we bought was screwing us up to where we thought we had no money. Now we realize we have 9 more euro to use so we are going to go have a beer at the local pub probably on Foley's Street. Kevin was a little home sick but after figuring out the currencey exchange rate we are both doing much better. We do have free internet at the hostel and will post another blog and some pictures in the next few days before we leave.
~Jessica

Here we are with our backpacks, getting ready to go to the airport. It will be like your there with us....kinda!

Here we are on our last night on Cape Cod before leaving.
